Rugs are as individual as people. Some rugs may require additional steps while others may require fewer or a totally different approach than the “regular” treatment. For instance, antique or silk rugs are hand washed gently or just spot cleaned as needed due to their unique characteristics. Our staff has the knowledge to properly clean any rug that we may encounter.

Our cleansing process consists of six steps. First, we put the rug through the dusting machine which removes all the heavy sand and grit that regular vacuuming does not remove. Next we vacuum the rug on both sides and take it to the wash pit. In the wash pit we scrub the rug front and back and rinse thoroughly to remove all the cleansing agent. Then the rug is put through the ringer to remove approximately 80% of the water and taken to the dry room. In North Atlanta’s only heated dry room, your rug is completely dried in 12 to 18 hours. The drying process is key to prevent bacteria and mold growth which decomposes the foundation of the rug.

Repair is the most interesting and the most challenging facet of the business. We have the ability to replace or repair the fringe, rebuild warn areas and reweave tears and holes in the rug. Please bring the rug by for an estimate on your repair.

CRISTOMAR has the products to prevent insects and other pests form attacking your rug. We offer moth proofing, dust mite control as well as flea and tick removal. In addition, our cleaning process removes the dust and dander that can inflame your allergies. Cleaning your rugs on a regular basis will improve your air quality!

Remember to protect your floor from scratches made by the rug and pick-up underlayment. Underlayment also protects your family and friends form slipping on the rug and falling.
